The Nile River played a huge part in ancient egypt. It is egypts only water source today and most of the cities are located either on or near the river. They used the Nile as irrigation to raise crops. Without the Nile Egypt would be mostly desert and people wouldnt want to live there.
The pharoahs are one part of ancient egypt that we hear about alot, probably the most often too. The pharoahs were the leaders or rulers of egypt. Their was some great ones and some so so ones but the egyptians thought that the pharoahs were decendents from the gods. Pharoahs were a big part in Ancient Egypt. Once a pharoah died they always needed a place to put the dead body. So the egyptians built big Pyramids to hold their body and prepare it for the after life. The pyramids would be stalked with everything the body would need for the after life. Even though the Pyramids are still a mystery today the Great Pyramids at Giza are one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Thutmose III: He conqured Syria and Persia. He was known as the "Napoleon of Egypt" He could be the best general of the Ancient Egypt civilization.
Amenhotep IV: He changed the polythestic religion that Egypt had before to monotheism. It was later changed back once he died, his wife changed it back.
King Tut: He was the boy king, with out him we wouldn't think of treasure when people talked about egypt. Probably the most well known Pharoah.
Menes: He was the first ever pharoah of Egypt. Without him maybe we wouldnt even be talkin about pharoahs, again one of those what if situations.
Cleopatra: The first woman ruler of the world. She ruled about the same time of the Roman Empire. Killed herself by letting snakes bit her.
